Cheryl, dual-board-certified RN and founder of Cheryl On Lux

About Cheryl

From LPN at seventeen to Director of Nursing - and the burnout in between.

Three decades in healthcare. Two board certifications. One woman who finally asked the question her patients had been answering for her all along: who is taking care of the caretaker?

The Long Way Here

The framework I wish someone had handed me at thirty.

I became a licensed practical nurse at seventeen - too young to vote in the elections that shaped the hospitals I worked in, but old enough to sit at the bedside of strangers and learn what dignity costs. I have spent thirty years in healthcare since. I have held hands through last breaths and first breaths. I have written care plans at 3 a.m. and signed payroll at 7.

The promotions kept arriving. RN. CRRN. CCRN. Director of Nursing. The résumé learned to speak for itself, even when I couldn't. I built the kind of life that photographs well - the credentials, the title, the curated calm - and somewhere inside it, I went quietly missing.

"I had every credential a woman could collect, and I still couldn't write a prescription for my own peace."

Burnout, when it came for me, did not arrive as collapse. It arrived as competence - the dangerous kind. The kind that wakes up at 5 a.m., runs the floor, runs the household, and forgets to ask whether any of it is still hers. There was no diagnosis in my training for the woman who has it all together and quietly cannot feel her own life.

So I built one. Cheryl On Lux is the framework I wish someone had handed me at thirty - clinical in its rigor, luxurious in its delivery, and unwilling to ask high-achieving women to choose between excellence and ease. The 7 Pillars of Peace are how I write the prescription now. For my clients. For my daughter. For myself.

The Philosophy

Peace, written like a care plan.

The 7 Pillars of Peace is the assessment I built for the woman the medical system was never designed to treat - the one who is functioning beautifully and starving quietly. Each pillar is a domain I learned to evaluate at the bedside: mind, sleep, body, relationships, finances, home, and fun.

Together they form a living prescription - one that treats the whole woman, not the symptom she walked in with. This is luxury used the way it was always meant to be used: as medicine.
